History doesn’t repeat, but it does rhyme.
I have been away on holidays but fortunately nothing at all has happened in the realm of geopolitics during my absence. Nevertheless, a quick catch up is in order.
“Thank you USA”
After promising the world that the US would stop Nordstream II by any means possible, President Joe Biden must have been delighted when those troublesome Russian pipelines mysteriously exploded for some reason. Some people immediately accused .. I mean thanked the USA for its contribution to reducing Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions. Of course, there was no evidence that the US was involved in any way. Anyone who pointed out that NATO ships and US aircraft were loitering suspiciously in the area where the pipeline spontaneously exploded were just spreading Russian misinformation. It’s quite obvious that the Russians blew up their own pipeline as a “false flag” because that’s the kind of things Russians do.
Not to worry though, Sweden, Denmark and Germany initiated a tripartite investigation into the explosion - Russian participation was of course denied. The Swedes obligingly removed several hundred metres of the damaged pipeline and spirited it away ‘for investigation’, the results of which remain top secret. We can however be certain that all three ‘investigating’ parties know exactly who perpetrated this act as all three countries declared the investigation a national security matter of the highest order. When German parliamentarian, Sahra Wagenknecht of Der Links (the Left) party, a vocal and troublesome critic of the German government, demanded the findings be shared with parliament, parliament was informed:
"After careful consideration, the federal government has concluded that additional information can not be released - even in classified form - for reasons based on the welfare of the state."
"The information requested thus affects confidentiality interests that are so in need of protection that the state's well-being outweighs the parliamentary right to information and the right of members of parliament to ask questions [and] must exceptionally take precedence over the federal government's confidentiality interest".

This tells you all you really need to know. The perpetrator is known but cannot be named as the result would be horrifying to the citizens. This highlights that Germany is not a sovereign nation, and remains an occupied country since the end of the Second World War.
The Lettuce
While fingers were obviously pointed at the US, Great Britain’s grubby fingerprints could not be discounted. The US may bluster around the world stage like an imbecilic drunken elephant, but where outright open criminality is required, the US has tended to rely on its vassals to do the real dirty work. France in central Africa, Poland and the Baltics in eastern Europe and Britain in Syria and many other places where discretion is called for. Of course, one then becomes dependent on the competence of one’s proxies.
A quick review of Liz Truss’ political career demonstrates clearly that competence is not her strong suit. Sadly, none of the candidates for British prime minister were in any way competent, not Boris, not Truss and not replacement muppet, Richi Sunak. Competence is not a requirement for the new WEF sponsored “leadership class”, in fact it’s a positive handicap. Nevertheless, it was surprising to watch her crash and burn in record time, going down in the history books as Britain’s shortest serving prime minister.
Yes, it was a cheap tabloid stunt but it was damned funny.
That a concerted media campaign to destroy Liz Truss commenced almost as soon as she entered office tells us something about the roiling deep state politics behind the scenes. Truss was never the preferred Tory PARTY candidate but was voted in by the general Tory party membership, aka, the card carrying party proletariat. As soon as she was driven out of office, the Tory leadership changed the voting rules to exclude the general membership so they could appoint their preferred non-entity, Richi Sunak, the WEF and finance capitalist candidate. Sadly for Liz, she did not make things hard for them with her incompetent blundering.
The Fappening
Let’s take a trip down memory lane to one of the darker corners of the internet. In 2014 many a pretty young celebrity woke to discover that those private, intimate photos they’d taken on their iPhone had been published on the internet for their fans and general public to enjoy. For years Apple had promoted its phones and its iCloud storage platform as absolutely safe and secure. If you lost your iPhone password, that was it for you - Apple could not help you, your data and photos were lost forever as even Apple engineers could not crack into your account. That claim however, was a lie. Whenever an Apple technical service provider went public explaining how photos and data could be retrieved from a locked iPhone, they were slapped with a threat to revoke their accreditation and pulled back into line. The truth of the matter is every electronic device manufacturer - mobile phones, laptops, computers, software - is required by the US and its intelligence partners to include a backdoor to allow their intelligence agencies to hack and spy on all devices. Companies that did not play ball, such as China’s Huawei, were demonized, banned and had their operations restricted.
iCloud and all web-based storage platforms are wide open for exploitation. Edward Snowdon provided evidence how the US and the Five Eyes were scooping up all electronic communications as they travelled through the network. This was why the US attacked its European allies plans to use non-hackable Huawei network hubs for 5G communications. What this means is that while Huawei and other secure devices are difficult to hack into, whenever those devices connect to the mobile or wifi network, all transiting communications and data are scooped up, so having a Huawei phone is no guarantee of privacy.
William Binney, former NSA technical director, had earlier reported that NSA agents were openly hacking celebrities iCloud accounts and sharing pornographic images among themselves without any oversight whatsoever. It was only a matter of time before these so-called government agents began selling this material to the highest bidder.
Knowing all this it is incomprehensible that Liz Truss (and many other elite politicians) have continued to use their personal iPhones for confidential communications. Possibly because she thought it would be better not to leave any trace on her government-supplied encrypted phone, minutes after the explosions on the Nordstream pipelines, Truss messaged US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken with the message “It’s done.” If the Five Eyes can read every electronic communication over public networks, so can the Russians and so…..
There are lot of competing analysis out there as to how the the Nordstream sabotage was conducted and some analyses are particularly good. It’s unlikely we will ever know for sure until the perpetrators are standing in a dock giving testimony.

Update 16 March 2023
Seymour Hersh exposes the bastards:
The idiots at the New York Times propose a counter scenario where 6 Ukrainians hire a yacht…. They think you’re an idiot!
Kerch Bridge
The Russians did not call out Truss until after the truck bombing of the Kerch Bridge linking Russia to Crimea in October 2022. US forces manning the Himars rocket system had been trying to take out the bridge without success for weels, so on 8 October 2022 NATO went analogue and used a truck bomb. One span of the roadway collapsed and there was damage to the central railway line, but this proved insufficient to stop traffic for any length of time. The bridge was too well constructed and, as only one of the truck bombs went off, one whole roadway was undamaged. The Russians declared this attack as an act of terrorism, which should be a warning to the perpetrators that the Russians will be coming after them. ‘Buckwheats’, like the Chechens. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Things_to_Do_in_Denver_When_You%27re_Dead
Within days the Russians had unraveled the plans and were making arrests. US and UK special forces were involved in the operation. Indeed, plans had been developed as far back as May, see here: https://thegrayzone.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Support-for-Maritime-Raiding-Operations-Proposal.pdf It appears the truck bomb was shipped through various third parties from Bulgaria to Russia and then the load was picked up by a local trucking contractor. The driver was not a suicide bomber per se but the unwitting victim of the conspirators, unaware of what he was actually transporting. The bomb was detonated remotely once on the bridge. The Russians fired a shot across NATOs bow by revealing that they have Truss’ text message and are aware of British machinations in Ukraine, however, it’s doubtful that there is anyone in the US or NATO paying attention.
Despite the fireworks and collapse of one of the bridge spans, traffic over the bridge was only partly inconvenienced and replacement spans are already being installed.
Kherson Shenanigans
After the Kerch Bridge incident, the Stavka appointed a new general, Sergey Surovikin, to command all forces in Ukraine. I don’t think what this means has been stressed enough in analyses - Surovikin has been given cart-blanche to manage the war without political interference. This means for Russia all political questions have now been resolved and the agreed way forward is a military solution.
After a quick assessment of the situation on the ground, Surovikin immediately pulled back Ukrainian civilians and Russian troops from the northern bank of the Dneiper River, where Kherson city is located. This immediately set off a wave of hysterical wailing about Russian losing the war and giving up on its newly acquired regions, etc, etc, etc. Anyone claimining this - or even giving it airtime - is an idiot. As I’ve said many times, war is not a sport to be cheered. Surovikin is on the ground, knows what he is doing and he has a political and military free hand to make all the necessary decisions. He doesn’t need the advice (or criticism) of armchair experts sitting on their arse in their mother’s basements.
The Ukrainians, who have been blindly assaulting Kherson with catastrophically costly and futile frontal wave attacks for months now, did not drive the Russians out and were as much taken by surprise by the Russian withdrawal as the commentariat. No one should have been surprised as the Russians had been evacuating civilians from Kherson for weeks ahead of the army pulling out. In fact, the Ukrainians and their NATO allies were so confused by the move that they thought must be a trap. Indeed it is. Kherson, now devoid of Russian speaking civilians (around 50,000 died-in-the-wool Ukrainian nationalists refused evacuation), is now a free-fire zone. A sensible army would hold back and not place its neck in the noose that was prepared for it, but such was the undeniable propaganda coup for Ukraine that they could not stop themselves. All the Ukrainian troops entering Kherson are under sustained bombardment. This is the fundamental difference between the Russians and the Nazis - the Russians will trade land where it makes strategic sense, while the Nazis will try and hold onto every single centimetre of blood-soaked ground…. and die trying.
There’s a lesson there….
The strategic logic of withdrawing from the north bank of the Dnieper is undeniable. The bridges across the Dnieper at Kherson that were being used to supply the city and troops were damaged and under constant fire, which placed supply lines under pressure. With the Ukrainians threating to blow up the dams upriver from the city, there was a huge risk that troops on the northern bank would be cut off and destroyed. Finally, the new Russian strategy of destroying Ukraine’s electricity and gas network as we go into winter would have made Kherson unliveable. Who cares if the withdrawal ‘looks bad’. Propaganda does not win wars.
Snow and a Frozen Conflict
The US sponsors of this war, being driven only by the optics at home, are now desperate to freeze the war while they think they’re ahead. CIA director Bill Burns secretly flew to Turkey to meet with director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin in early November - falsely claiming the meeting was at Russia’s request - to discuss freezing the conflict. Naryshkin must had wryly smiled as he listened to Burns’ arguments. The US is not-agreement capable so Russia is not going to negotiate a political defeat for itself while it is winning on the battlefield. To quote the German’s of the Third Crusade during an audience with the Byzantine emperor, Alexis Angelos in 1196, “The time has now come to take off effeminate garments and brooches and put on iron instead of gold” The Annals of Niketas Choniates. Pg 262. Wayne State University Press, 1984.
Within the US and NATO ranks there is panic about Russia’s looming winter campaign, although disguised beneath idiotic bravado. The British general staff predicted that operations for both sides would grind to a halt over winter “due to the cold.” If there’s one thing that the Russian’s know nothing about, it’s fighting in winter, obviously. Who writes this shit? It goes to show how imbecilism has infected every facet of the west. The OKH in Berlin probably told themselves the same BS about Stalingrad in 1942.
Calling on NATO
The Ukrainians must be aware that their sponsors are beginning to get cold feet. Sure, there are some in the US and NATO who are openly advocating for war with Russia, but fortunately there are still some people with functioning brains. Desperate to drag the rest of Europe into the maelstrom, someone in the Ukrainian military fired an S300 surface to air missile into Poland, destroying a tractor and killing two innocent farmers. The Polish and Baltic States’ foreign ministers immediate blamed Russia and called for an emergency meeting of NATO to invoke the collective defense clauses and declare war. They were rapidly slapped down. The S-300 was conclusively identified as Ukrainian. The Clown President of Ukraine continues to bang on, blaming Russia, but he’s rapidly losing friends everywhere.
Poland gets royally trolled by Dmitry Medvedev.
Zelensky (and Biden) have also lost one of their major money laundering routes with the implosion of the FTX scam-exchange. This is a whole other story which has been covered in great depth by others. Enjoy.
